Tony Cruz

Currently Tony is on leave/sabbatical until summer 2024

Since immigrating to Canada in 2011, Tony (he, him) has obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria and a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of British Columbia. Tony uses an education and client-centered exercise approach to Physiotherapy sessions. Tony's trauma-informed approach aims to help his clients with providing an understanding and reassurance for what may be going on with their bodies.

Tony also holds a Level 1 Orthopaedic Manual Therapy certification and as of October 2022 is certified in IMS Dry Needling. Tony’s clinical experience includes total knee and hip replacements, sports injuries, Parkinson’s, and falls prevention, among others. His hope is to promote safety and improvements in independence while bringing a smile to your face.

Tony has enjoyed working with the residents of Mount Pleasant, Kitsilano and Main Street for over 3 years. In this time, Tony has become a trusted referral source for clients looking for a Spanish speaking practitioner.  Tony has  made connections with local baseball players and athletes, and he also plays in the LMBA baseball league. Prior to coming to Canada, Tony was a high-level baseball player training under major league organizations in the Dominican Republic until deciding to pursue higher education.

In his spare time Tony enjoys any sport with a ball, hosting dinner nights for his friends with his wife, volunteering at his church, keeping up with the latest technology, and working up a sweat in the beautiful outdoors of BC.

Tony is fluent in English and Spanish, and works Monday and Thursdays from 1:30 to 7pm.
