Aart van Gorkum opened Main Street Physiotherapy Clinic in 2009 and was the first physiotherapy clinic in the vibrant Main Street/Queen Elizabeth Park area. It has continued to be a fixture here, supporting the local community schools and sports teams, and providing workshops and in-services for schools, teams and businesses.
Main Street Physiotherapy Clinic offers a full range of services for all bodies, focusing on client education, exercise prescriptions, and hands-on treatments. Our highly trained and experienced physiotherapists will tailor your physiotherapy treatment to fit your specific needs and get you back on your feet, whether your injury is due to sports, a car or work place accident, a joint replacement, or medical condition. We offer private rooms and an on-site gym.
The clinic is located on Main Street between 32rd and 33rd Avenues. There is free street parking in the area and easy accessibility by car, walking, bike or public transit. The nearest bus stops are at Main and 31st or 33rd Ave.
We acknowledge that we are fortunate to operate the clinic on the traditional unceded territory and homeland of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
“I have been treated by Kate Kennedy for about 15 years. I followed her to Main Street Physio because she is simply the most talented physiotherapist I have had the pleasure of being treated by. She has seen me through a car accident and my recovery, and is very knowledgeable about persistent pain treatment and ongoing issues that arise in a mid-sixties arthritic woman’s body. Her teaching experience is a great asset in the treatment room as she has up to date information and a vast knowledge base. In addition to physical treatment she has taught me a great deal about my body and about healing, and this has been a source of independence for me. Her interpersonal skills are amazing which makes the entire experience of healing pain and living with pain much more tolerable. I feel as though I have a partner in my pursuit of wellness.”
